Announcing the ShaXspere Project!

The program is divided into two events:

First Event: A panel meeting entitled: “Who wrote Shakespeare?”

ShakespeareThis panel will be open to the public. We will discuss the depth of the work and authorship of William Shakespeare, at the West meeting room of the Sacramento Library, 828 I St., Sacramento, CA 95814 on Tuesday April 24, 2018 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Questions that may be put to the panel:

Why are they valued through the ages?
What relevance do the plays have today?
Who really wrote the plays?
Why is important to research who wrote the play?
Where have you picked up your research?
What got you interested in the topic?

The moderator will be Terry Taylor,  CEO of the Shakespeare Society of America, and the panel will include:

Gerit Quealy, author of Botanical Shakespeare from HarperDesign/HarperCollins.
Ramon Jimenez, Independent Scholar.
Thomas J. Slakey, Tutor (retired) St. Mary’s College,  Annapolis Maryland.
Lisa Tromovitch, Professor UOP, Artistic Director, Livermore Shakespeare Festival.

Second Event: Performances of “The Lost Plays of Shakespeare”

Edmund Ironside  – April 27 at 8:00 pm and April 28 at 2:00 pm:
Early Kings of England battle it out for supremacy in a surprise ending.

The London Prodigal – May 04 at 8:00 pm and May 05 at 2:00 pm:
A father returns home to find his son has become a complete debaucher.

The Puritan – May 11 at 8:00 pm and May 12 at 2:00 pm:
A widow to a kindly gentleman of repute falls prey to poor judgment.

A Yorkshire Tragedy – May 18 at 8:00 pm and May 19 at 2:00 pm:
Terror in the Recounting of a true murder mystery of Elizabethan England.

Lord Thomas Cromwell – May 25 at 8:00 pm and May 26 at 2:00 pm:
The Rise and Fall of Cromwell, the go to it henchman of King Henry VIII.

Suggested Donation: $20.
