California Stage now offering 2018 Season Subscriptions

California Stage Theater (R25) offers an amazing deal for their upcoming season: $120 for a full array of 17 events, which will keep the variety-minded enthralled.

The season begins in January and runs through December 2018.  Subscriptions close December 31st — so get yours soon!

The CalStage season features eight regular season shows, including:

  • The world premiere of Winter’s Waltz by Richard Broadhurst
  • Money, a musical by David Axelrod
  • Five lost Shakespeare plays
  • Times Like These by John O’Keefe
  • Ten radio dramas presented by CalStage’s own Third Age Onstage Ensemble
  • Seven select Special Events, including solo shows, music events and dance pieces, to be announced throughout the season.

Classical Revolution, Jan. 29

California Stage presents Classical RevolutionCome join California Stage as we celebrate the holiday season with Casey Lipka presenting Classical Revolution and friends. Take a much needed rest from the rush of holiday shopping in midtown Sacramento and relax to the sweetness of the strings and voices performing classical sounds and jazz love songs.

The event will be held at 4pm, Sunday, January 29th at California Stage, 2509 R Street, Sacramento.

Join Casey Lipka’s Classical Revolution Sacramento as chamber music bursts out of the concert hall into a relaxed setting where barriers are broken & listening is fun! Enjoy performances by Casey Lipka, Brennen Milton, Ingrid Peters, Michael Frost, Carlos M. Fuentes, Mike McMullen, Levi Saelua and Sterling Cozza for an afternoon of music. Renovations to R25 Arts Complex Welcomed by Ray Tatar

Change is definitely in the air at R25. This summer, with multiple productions, programs, and classes in full swing as always, Producing Artistic Director Ray Tatar has found time to make some key renovations to the California Stage Theater and the Poetry Center. More plans are in the works, but Tatar already sees the difference these changes are making.

The California Stage Theater has recently been equipped with a new suspended ceiling. Artists working in the space are already enjoying its impact. After installation, Tatar immediately noticed less echo in the space as well as a welcome 20 degree drop from Sacramento’s scorching outside temperatures.  Strategically mounted down-draft fans and air conditioning units now also blow cool air into the venue’s seating area creating a much more enjoyable experience for summer patrons.
