Resident Companies

The R25 Arts Complex is home to four additional theatre companies producing year-round

Actors Workshop of Sacramento

In the fall of 1989, Edward Claudio co-founded (with Michelle Barnett) the Actor’s Workshop of Sacramento, a place for actors of all levels of experience to develop their craft. Over the years, the Actor’s Workshop has taught a wide range of classes. In 1992, the Actor’s Workshop added the Teen Actor’s Workshop and the Children’s Actor’s Workshop. The Workshop offers private lessons, as well as group classes for children, teens, and adults.

In order to give Workshop members the opportunity to put into practice what they learn in classes, the Actor’s Workshop Theatre of Sacramento, the theater arm of the Actor’s Workshop of Sacramento, has staged more than 200 plays.

Ovation Stage

Ovation Stage aims to provide a creative and inspiring environment where playwrights, actors, directors, designers, visual artists and theatre enthusiasts join together to create thought provoking and stimulating works that allow theatre-goers to view, experience and ponder the zeitgeist (the spirit of our times).

Ovation Stage presents stories where both the actors and the audience members discover joys, fears, hopes, secrets, and dreams that inspire awareness that we humans have more in common than we have apart.

Resurrection Theatre

Like any theatre company, Resurrection Theatre Company started with a desire to tell a story. With the help of California Stage and a few friends, that desire was met…and Resurrection Theatre was born. As the years have passed, a vast bastion of local talent has come into the company, leaving their marks with their performances, lighting, designs, direction, and devotion to the shared human experience of theatre. The love and energy of these people allowed Resurrection Theatre to present wonderful works of art.
